Over 35 award winning years serving people with autism and other developmental disabilities

Kathy Haugen-Kelchner has lived her life long dream of educating children.  Her sister Sharon, who lived with autism, inspired her love for working with people with disabilities.  Kathy currently works in a large urban district while continuing to write and develop new materials for families and teachers.  She has been honored with awards throughout her career such as finalist for Dallas ISD Teacher of the Year, The Arc of Dallas and The Arc of Texas Teacher of the Year.  The Autism Society of Collin County honored her with an angel award.  Kathy has co-authored publications with Dr. Michael Wehmeyer while working at The Arc’s National Headquarters and directing the Self-Determination Projects.

Kathy is striving to be her best for God while working to serve children with autism and other developmental disabilities and helping them to become their best.
